Merry Christmas from Anita!🎄
Jesus parables were everyday examples of farmers sowing seed, shepherds tending sheep, a woman searching for a lost coin which powerfully illustrate his message. Giving and receiving gifts helps us to understand the greatest gift of all, the unfathomable gift of love manifested in Jesus birth as a human baby.
Although we don’t know the actual calendar day of these events, most Christians are happy to celebrate on December 25. Much of the tradition surrounding Christmas is symbolic, although I understand the strong feelings of those more literal than I.
The special delivery guest post today stirred my heart because this young reader so vividly expressed the excitement of Christmas with the brash exuberance of youth.
I smiled wide as I read, remembering Christmases past. I hope it will bring back happy memories for you too!
The Best Christmas Ever!
by Ryder Ogden
As I lay in bed on Christmas Eve night I could not sleep at all. My mind was racing wondering what presents I would get. I had been hoping to get the giant Lego’s Star Wars Droid kit with over 2000 pieces. All night, I sneaked into the living room to see if Santa had come.
After hours of peeking, I saw a big box with my name on it. I knew exactly what it was.
I grabbed it and shook it. It sounded like lots of Lego blocks. I was worried I might get caught shaking it so I ran back to my room as fast as I could. The rest of the night I hardly slept.
Just as the sun started to come up, I awoke from my slumber. I grabbed my sweatpants and ran down the hall screaming “WAKE UP!” Once everyone had come in I headed straight for my present.
As I was about to tear into it, my mom told me to stop, we have a special snowman ornament that she wanted to hide on the tree. The first person in my family to find it got to open the first present.
The chase was on.
My sister and I ran around the tree looking for a special snowman. At the time, that snowman meant the world to me.
There it was, directly in front of me! I reached my hand out.I wrapped my fingers around it and yanked it off the tree, screaming “I found it! I found it!”
I heard a “NOOOO!” from the other side of the tree, coming from my sister.
With the biggest smile on my face I ran to my present tearing the wrapping paper off. I shouted “YESSS!” at the top of my lungs. I was so happy.
It was the exact set I wanted. I ran to my parents and hugged them saying “thank you so much.”
I love thinking about my most memorable Christmas. I hope this year will be as fantastic and phenomenal as last year.
I hope your Christnas will bring you much Joy!
