Anita, once again you've made a beautifully cogent point reminding us of the reason for the season. It is especially important this season as the world seems to be in such utter chaos. We need to turn to Christ the King to reestablish some order to this mess we have made. Pray for peace, certainly. But also pray for redemption. God bless you, Anita, and Merry Christmas.

Thank you Anita. We all need reminding why this Christmas thing is sooo big.

Humility is under rated. God's choice to introduce salvation in such an unsuspecting way is utterly wonderous.

Anita, you just packaged up the meaning of Advent with warm words and presented it anew to my hungry heart this 19° morning in New Hampshire. Thanks so much. I appreciate the photos, which certainly took TLC time to find, and they are a perfect compliment!

I have been bothered by the business of tending to my Smartphone. Returning texts, checking e-mails, cleaning my folders (cleaning up digital folders sounds like OCD to me!), replying to What's App and FB Messenger messages and being tempted to binge-scroll the Internet. I have been asking the Lord for help and expressing my desire to give Him quality time during Advent.

He answered my prayer last night in an unexpected way. I was volunteering kid-sitting for a single Mom with a nine year old boy living with autism challenges. After taking him Christmas shopping for himself and dinner out, we returned home. He got overtired and ornery, and next thing I know, he announced my cell phone was in the toilet with p__ &p__p. I remained calm. The overnight rice treatment didn't work to dry out the phone. It's deader than a door-nail through a disco dancing dodo! But I realize I'll have a few days of no Smartphone busy-ness and extra time, for which I prayed, to meditate on the gift of Messiah in this Advent season!

Thanks for starting my morning off perfectly complimentary to my coffee with Jesus time!

Thank you for reminding us. So many today seem unaware of what I sometimes call the Fundamental Fact: Jesus of Nazareth lived, He died, He rose from the dead. Even the concept of history as events that occurred in our space-time continuum (as Francis Schaeffer might have said) is foreign to many. Our memories and how we preserve them are so important to remind ourselves and others of that Fundamental Fact.
